Autos Become The Center Of Innovation

With many auto competitors in the market, auto companies around the world are making efforts to get a competitive edge in terms of auto technology and sustainability for the next generation of vehicles. Using technology’s potential for a positive change in auto and focusing on standardization, platform sharing, and computer-aided design in auto is the vision of most of the auto leaders. Much focus has been placed on Research and Development to lookout for growth areas in body styles, fuel efficiency and independence, automobile emissions,  engine management systems; the latest SUV trends, exotics, crossovers, concept cars and luxury vehicles, as well as find out what’s next in alternative fuel products and connectivity and beyond. The dream of an Autonomous, Self-driving Vehicles start to become reality. To reduce accidents and increase independence, semi-autonomous vehicles to be available to customers before the end of this decade and the technology for fully autonomous vehicles capable of navigating the roadways ready during the next decade. These cars take two days to travel a distance of about 550 miles enabling the car to drive itself at speeds up to 70 mph on the highway. They are configured for deep neural learning to recognize vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and a long list of other obstacles. There are still major issues in the way of self-driving vehicles, including regulatory issues and data privacy; there are those who worry about the data collection required by these systems. Legal policy regarding transportation doesn’t account for self-driving cars at the moment.

The next innovation is in terms of Electric Vehicles. As we look to the next major development in how vehicles are powered, it all comes back to electrification. Electric Vehicles can run on 100 percent electricity to provide gas- and emission-free driving. This technology holds great potential, especially for use in smaller vehicles running at lower speeds for short distances, in highly populated urban areas.

Mobile applications empower us to stay connected with people and information while on the go, and bring greater independence. With great applications to enhance the driving experience you can now check your fuel level, oil life and tire pressure (if your vehicle is equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system) talk to an advisor, locate your car on a map (available only to U.S. Subscribers), remote start it (if factory equipped) and lock or unlock doors from anywhere you have a signal (if equipped with power door locks).

In addition to our industry-leading development of battery-electric vehicles, auto companies continue to pursue promising alternative technologies such as hydrogen fuel cells. Hydrogen fuel cells offer the potential to power a wide range of vehicles without a drop of gasoline. They also have the potential to support family-sized and larger vehicles, provide more passenger or cargo-carrying capability, the ability to travel longer distances at highway speeds, great performance and fuel economy, and full-time zero emission operation.

With other Automobile Advancements such as LCD Dashboards and Wireless Charging Systems a car can gather an electrical charge simply by being parked over a wireless charging unit.

The new wave of automobile technologies has paved a way for companies to provide a better experience for the customers. Focusing both on customer driving safety and independence as well as designing future cars as a part of green initiative is the way to go.
